The Lubbock House of Prayer began operations June 1, 2003. We believe the Holy Spirit is searching for a generation, both young and old that is abandoned to the pursuit of the heart of God and who will declare His purposes through night and day prayer. We believe that it is His desire to raise up a place in every city where prayer for that city, region, and nation can go forth 24/7. We believe that this will be accomplished by love sick worshippers who will give themselves to fasting and prayer in the spirit of the Tabernacle of David. Scripture teaches that night and day prayer is crucial if a city is to witness the fullness of revival (Luke 18:7). We find inspiration from the story of Mary of Bethany who extravagantly worshipped Jesus by pouring her alabaster flask of costly perfume onto His body. For this the disciples criticized her, yet Jesus commended her. The Lubbock IHOP desires to provide an atmosphere of continuous worship and intercession so that we can pour out our lives as Mary did her alabaster flask.
We are committed to four essential heart standards. These are the basic four pillars of IHOP.
- Intercession Night and day prayer through intimacy with Jesus in worship and prophetic intercession. (Only the weak continue in prayer.)
- Holiness The sermon on the mount lifestyle; Matt 5-7
- Offerings Extravagant giving and living fasted lifestyle in order to give more to the harvest and the poor.
- Prophetic Confidence in God’s prophetic intervention and our ability to hear His direction and pray what is on His heart.
Every two hours during our hours of operation a new worship set begins, each falling into one of four prayer formats. The prayer sets are accomplished by either worship teams from the Lubbock IHOP or via a live web cast from the Kansas City IHOP. (For more information about the

The Lubbock IHOP is not a church and many of the IHOP staff members attend different local congregations. We are a non-profit multi-generational ministry governed by an Executive Staff and a Board of Directors. We are dedicated to supporting the local church and the body of Christ through prayer.
Our desire is that you will be encouraged that full time intercessors at the IHOP are praying the same Apostolic prayers that Paul prayed over the churches. We regularly lift up the ministries in the city of
Lubbock
and the region. It is our heart to see the local church succeed and prosper in the spirit of wisdom and revelation and that each ministry will be effective in equipping the saints and in reaching the lost.

WE BELIEVE that only the sixty-six books of the Bible are the inspired, and therefore inerrant, Word of God. The Bible is the final authority for all we believe and how we are to live. [Matthew 5:18; John 10:35 and 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:1617; 2 Peter 1:2021]
WE BELIEVE that the one true God exists eternally in three personsFather, Son and Holy Spiritand that these, being one God, are equal in deity, power and glory. We believe that God not only created the world but also now upholds, sustains, governs and providentially directs all that exists and that He will bring all things to their proper consummation in Christ Jesus to the glory of His name. [Psalm 104; Psalm 139; Matthew 10:2931 and 28:19; Acts 17:2428; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 1:912 and 4:4-6; Colossians 1:1617; Hebrews 1:13; Revelation 1:46]
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, fully God and fully man, that He was conceived and born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and offered Himself as a penal, substitutionary sacrifice for sinners. By the blood of His cross, He obtained for us eternal redemption, the forgiveness of sins and life everlasting. He was raised bodily on the third day and ascended to the right hand of the Father, there to make intercession for the saints forever. [Matthew 1:1825; John 1:118; Romans 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:128; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 3:1014; Ephesians 1:7; Philippians 2:611; Colossians 1:1523; Hebrews 7:25 and 9:1315 and 10:19; 1 Peter 2:2125; 1 John 2:12]
WE BELIEVE that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. No ordinance, ritual, work or any other activity on the part of man is required or accepted in order to be saved. This saving grace of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, also sanctifies us by enabling us to do what is pleasing in God's sight in order that we might be progressively conformed to the image of Christ. [John 1:1213 and 6:3744 and 10:2530; Acts 16:3031; Romans 34 and 8:117, 31-39 and 10:810; Ephesians 2:810; Philippians 2:1213; Titus 3:37; 1 John 1:7, 9]
WE BELIEVE that the Lord Jesus Christ baptizes believers in the Holy Spirit, in whom we are also sealed for the day of redemption. The Holy Spirit regenerates, forever indwells, and graciously equips the Christian for godly living and service. Subsequent to conversion, the Spirit desires to fill, empower and anoint believers for ministry and witness. We also believe that signs and wonders, as well as all the gifts of the Spirit described in the New Testament, are operative today and are designed to testify to the presence of the Kingdom and to empower and edify the Church to fulfill its calling and mission. [Matthew 3:11; John 1:1213 and 3:115; Acts 4:2930; Romans 8:9 and 12:38; 1 Corinthians 12:1213; 2 Corinthians 1:2122; Galatians 3:15; Ephesians 1:1314 and 5:18]
WE BELIEVE that water baptism and the Lord's Supper are the two ordinances of the Church to be observed until the time of Christ's return. They are not a means of salvation, but are channels of God's sanctifying grace and blessing to the faithful in Christ Jesus. [Matthew 26:2629 and 28:19; Romans 6:311; 1 Corinthians 11:2334; 1 Peter 3:21]
WE BELIEVE that the Church is God's primary instrument through which He is fulfilling His redemptive purposes in the earth. To equip the saints for the work of ministry, God has given the Church apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. We also affirm the priesthood of all believers and the importance of every Christian being joined with and actively involved in a local community of the saints. We believe that women, no less than men, are called and gifted to proclaim the Gospel and do all the works of the Kingdom. [Matthew 16:1719; Acts 2:1718, 42; Ephesians 3:1421 and 4:1116; 1 Timothy 2:1115; Hebrews 10:2325; 1 Peter 2:45 and 910]
WE BELIEVE that God has called the Church to preach the Gospel to all nations, and especially to remember the poor and to minister to their needs through sacrificial giving and practical service. This ministry is an expression of the heart of the Lord Jesus Christ and is an essential part of the
Kingdom
of
God
. [Isaiah 58:612 and 61:1; Matthew 28:1820; Luke 4:18 and 21:14; Galatians 2:10; 1 Timothy 6:8]
WE BELIEVE in the literal Second Coming of Christ at the end of the age when He will return to Earth personally and visibly to consummate His Kingdom. We also believe in and are praying for a great end-time harvest of souls and the emergence of a victorious Church that will experience an unprecedented unity, purity and power in the Holy Spirit. [Psalms 2:79 and 22:2728; John 14:12 and 17:2026; Romans 11:2532; 1 Corinthians 15:2028, 5058; Ephesians 4:1116; Philippians 3:2021; 1 Thessalonians 4:135:11; 2 Thessalonians 1:312; Revelation 7:914]
WE BELIEVE that when the Christian dies they pass immediately into the blessed presence of Christ, there to enjoy conscious fellowship with the Savior until the day of the resurrection and glorious transformation of the body. The saved will then forever dwell in blissful fellowship with their great triune God. We also believe that when the unbeliever dies they are consigned to Hell, there to await the day of judgment when they shall be punished with eternal, conscious and tormented separation from the presence of God in the lake of fire. [Matthew 25:46; Luke 16:1931; John 5:2529; 1 Corinthians 15:3558; 2 Corinthians 5:110; Philippians 1:1926 and 3:2021; 2 Thessalonians 1:510; Revelation 20:1115 and 21:122:15
Israel
Mandate
The Lubbock IHOP is fully committed to watch and pray for
Israel
. “I have set watchmen upon your walls, O Jerusalem, who will never hold their peace day or night; you who are His servants and by your prayers put the Lord in remembrance of His promises, keep not silent.” Isaiah 62: 5-7.
The Lord promised to establish a House of Prayer across the nations for Israel in the End Times (Isaiah 56:7, 62:6-7) and we desire to partner in this mandate. We believe the full release of the Great Harvest in the nations is deeply linked to the visitation of the Spirit to
Israel
(Ezekiel 36:23-36). This will only be fully released in context to night and day prayer with fasting (Luke 18:7-8). We join with other Houses of Prayer across the earth to build God’s House of Prayer (Isaiah 44:28) and to serve
Israel
through night and day prayer and fasting.
Many Christians are not aware of the importance of
Israel
in God’s heart and her destiny in the end times. Many churches have neglected teaching about God’s plan for
Israel
and some have embraced “replacement theology” which teaches that God has turned away from the Jewish people.
