| Look What God Has Done! |
At a church that I attended during my college days (not that long ago... no "clever" comments please!), we used to sing a song pretty regularly that was called "Look What the Lord has Done." I remember thinking it was a little "cheesy" to say the least, yet when I sat down to reflect on the past few months of ministry, I couldn't help but breaking out into the chorus! It is unbelievable the things that God has done! Obviously He has not made me any better at sending out regular newsletters (I really am sorry... it's just a little overwhelming at times being the ministry guy, the administrator guy, the web site guy, the newsletter guy, etc.), but He has done some awesome things that I wanted to make everyone aware of!
The thing that I am probably most excited about at this point is the establishing of our ministry efforts in the Town & Country Trailer Park here in Lubbock. Town & Country is an extremely low-income neighborhood that is plagued by alcohol abuse, drug abuse, domestic violence, and other heartbreaking influences of the enemy. God has called us to be His ambassadors to this community, and He is paving the way to making effective ministry possible. Thanks to the obedience and generosity of our ministry supporters, we have been able to rent a trailer in the park for a full year that will serve as our "home base" for ministry! The long term plan for our ministry at the park includes focused ministries for the entire family through practical service and sharing the good news of Jesus; however, through the Lord's leading, we have started our efforts by focusing on a program for elementary and middle school students at the park. Our very first week we had 15 kids who we were able to love on and share the truth of Jesus with! What an incredible blessing!!! This program continues to grow, with new students hearing about it and expressing interest literally every day! I wish I had room to tell you about all of the things that God is doing at Town & Country, but it would pretty well fill up this newsletter, and there are other things I want to share. If you want to know more, please feel free to drop in (Thursdays at 4:30 p.m.) or drop me a note at kmcnutt@egmonline.org.
Another amazing development over the past months is the way that God has established and solidified our intern program. You can read all about the specifics of the program below, but I wanted to let you all know that God is definitely raising up a "new generation" of disciples who are actively embracing extravagant devotion to Jesus Christ and unselfish service to their fellow man. We recently returned from a trip to the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, where our interns were given the opportunity to spend uninterrupted hours in communion with God in the Global Prayer Room. Each of them returned to Lubbock encouraged, challenged, and energized to pursue God and ministry to others wholeheartedly! I am extremely excited about the intern program... God is doing great things! We are constantly accepting new applications for this program, so if you (or someone you know) are a high school or college aged individual who is interested in developing a lifestyle of intimacy with God and service to others, please complete our online contact form and someone will get back with you as soon as possible.
In addition to the things I have already mentioned, God is continuing to open up doors for ministry at the Lubbock County Juvenile Justice Center... we have the opportunity to share the good news of Jesus with 10-15 young adults on a weekly basis! I believe wholeheartedly that God is restoring hope for many of these young men and women, and that He is setting many of their hearts on fire with love for His Son! God's grace and mercy for each of us is beyond what we will ever be able to understand!
Well, there are other things I would love to tell you about here, but this is getting a little lengthy, so I will stop here (maybe sending one of these out more than once every four months would help... again, sorry!). Please continue to keep us in your prayers, and please consider partnering with us through volunteering (details on volunteer opportunities are listed below) or through a one-time or recurring financial gift. We are always excited to welcome new partners into what God is doing in this ministry!
Grace and peace...

| encounterGOD Internship Program |
encounterGOD ministries has teamed up with the Lubbock International House of Prayer to offer an incredible opportunity focused on high school and college-aged individuals (but not limited to those ages) who have a desire to walk in intimacy with the Bridegroom God while loving and serving the community in which they live! The internship program is designed for those who feel the urging of the Holy Spirit to establish Jesus’ commandments to “love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” and to “love your neighbor as yourself” as the primary pursuit of their life. Though the internship is only for a short season, we desire to help participants drink from the “fire hose” of all that God is pouring out for those willing to say “yes” to His call, with the hope that they will continue to embrace a lifestyle of prayer and worship well beyond these few months! The internship program features:
- Soaking and interceding in the LIHOP Prayer Room
- Hands-on training as a member of a LIHOP worship/prayer team
- Live classroom training on subjects such as:
- Intimacy with Jesus & the Bridal Paradigm
- The "Forerunner" Ministry
- Hearing God & moving in the prophetic
- End Times events & ministry
- Ministry to the poor & “forgotten” of the city
There are three versions of the internship program from which you can choose, based on your availability and the specific calling God has given you. The “light” version requires 10-15 hours per week with a minimum 3-month commitment, while the “intense” version requires 20-25 hours per week with a minimum 6-month commitment. For those who feel called to pursue this lifestyle on a full-time basis, there is also a full-time option available.
For more information about the internship program, please complete our online contact form and someone will get back with you as soon as possible. We hope that you will prayerfully consider this opportunity! |

| Casas por Cristo - Spring 2008 |
| We are leaving for a weeklong mission trip to Juarez, Mexico on March 16th where we will be building a home for a family in just 3 1/2 days!! Because one of the callings of encounterGOD ministries is to help develop unity among the various churches and denominations we encounter, I am so excited to share that our mission team is composed of teenagers and adults from 3 Lubbock churches! Please keep our ministry team in your prayers as we travel and minister in Juarez the week of March 16-21... I look forward to sharing some stories and pictures with you when we get home! |
| EGghead Design Studio / EGghead Digital |
In order to help support our ministry and ensure that the majority of the money donated to encounterGOD goes directly to those we are ministering to (rather than paying a salary), we have begun a small side business called EGghead Design Studio / EGghead Digital. Our primary business functions are T-shirt design/printing and web site development. We have purchased professional grade screen printing equipment and have at our disposal the latest in web development tools and technology. If you or someone you know is looking to have a high quality web site developed or needs t-shirts designed and/or printed for a business, event, etc., please put them in contact with us. We are currently working on developing a separate web site for the business, but for now we can be contacted via email at kyle@creativeegghead.com.
And if you're curious about the business name, the "EG" part stands for encounterGOD. Ever since we started the ministry Carey has been wanting to call something associated with it "EGghead"... let's just say this was her chance! |
| Support EGM |
If you have been blessed by encounterGOD ministries, or if you just believe in what God has called us to and want to get behind it, please consider supporting our ministry through prayer and/or by giving financially. We are looking to increase our ministry efforts over the next year, and much of what we believe God is calling us to do requires both prayer and financial support.
